The word Ayurveda comes from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit and means “Knowledge of Life”.  Ayurveda is an Indian philosophy of life, longevity and health and this healing art has been a tradition for over 3000 years.

Kansa is Sanskrit for Bronze, and is a combination of copper and tin. Kansa is referred to as the ‘healing metal’ in the Ayurvedic tradition.  Kansa has been used in Ayurvedic treatments for thousands of years and in recent years it has been used to create massage tools for use on the face and body.

The Kansa Wand Face Massage treatment integrates massage of the facial marmas (Ayurvedic acupressure points) using a massage tool called a Kansa Wand along with nourishing oils.  The wand moves deep into and underneath the contours of the face and around the brow line, jawline and neck, these are areas where tension is often held.

This soothing massage technique can help lift and tone facial muscles, softens features and enables you to keep looking radiant and healthy due to renewed blood and oxygen supply to the face.  Kneading facial skin and muscles aids the maintenance of the elasticity of the collagen and elastin fibres, while the stimulation of the Marma points helps to release energy blockages.

In addition to the deeply relaxing benefits of this treatment, it can help minimise fine lines and wrinkles, tighten the contours of the face, improve the tone and texture of the skin, reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, and improve blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. Other benefits reported by clients include clearer sinuses, relief from headaches and jaw tension and improved sleep.

Most importantly, Kansa Wand Face Massage boosts the immune system by its stress releasing activity, soothing the mind as well as the body.
